APPRAISAL:
Maritime Resolve's core research skills can be deployed throughout the investment and risk cycle. Our job is to assess the operational and physical reality, to ensure that this matches the information coming to decision-makers from other sources. This can be a one-off appraisal of new propositions, monitoring of on-going activities, or intervening when maritime businesses are looking shaky.
AT THE PLANNING STAGE
We provide objective examination at the interface between money and the marine world's practicalities.
When due diligence procedures require practical, physical examination and assessment of ships, ports, or marine systems we apply our particular skills guided by a knowledge of the questions a bank or investor will want answered. This can include working closely as a team with financial analysts to provide comprehensive analysis of new projects or audits of established operations.
We will look at markets, ship condition, provide second opinions on valuations, value smaller and specialised craft, and assess the quality of management. We can provide risk analysis and audits of operations.
For ports we can bring our substantial experience to bear on looking at plans as a whole, or on particular aspects.
ON-GOING SUPPORT
Supervision can be provided to look after client's interests at the critical break points: delivery, sale and purchase, survey, re-activation, even scrapping.
In the ports context we can advise, assist and provide training.
WHEN DOUBTS ARISE
Other pages cover our range of services, looking after client's interests when things go wrong. But before disaster actually overtakes an operation we can intervene to find the facts, appraise its soundness and look at what may be done to secure the client's interests.
We know the warning signs: bills not paid, wages in arrears, poor (or no) maintenance, safety standards and certification being breached. And we know how to find out if these are happening. Advance warning at this stage can save clients a great deal of grief later on.
If it is asked for, we can assist with constructive advice and suggestions at this critical stage.
